Photography at Meijer Gardens
Our grounds and facilities are popular locations for photography
- Because we want each guest experience to be memorable, photography—which encompasses digital and film, still or motion imagery—may be taken in public areas for personal, non-commercial use only.
- Portraiture and commercial photography require special permission, application and location fees.
- The purpose of this policy is to enhance the guest experience, offer limited access for portraiture and commercial photographers, and protect the copyright laws and intellectual property rights of our artists and designers.
Photo Guidelines
- Guests may take photos of public areas during normal business hours for personal, non-commercial use. Guests are encouraged to share or post images through social media, email or personal web pages.
- Drone photography is not allowed at any time.
- All media professionals must contact the Director of Communications to arrange photo and video shoots at 616-975-3180.
- All portraiture (portraits, family pictures, engagements, weddings, prom pictures, senior pictures, etc. Any shoot with a professional photographer) must contact the Culinary Arts & Events Department at (616) 975-3146 to coordinate or fill out the form found on the link below.

- You may not state or imply any endorsement of or by Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park for any purpose—personal or otherwise—without written permission from Meijer Gardens.
- DSLR cameras / cameras with detachable lenses are not allowed during the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concert Series. Cell phone photography is allowed during these concerts.
- Tripods are not allowed in the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory during Fred & Dorothy Fichter Butterflies Are Blooming.
